Expansion plans for a style-setter – in 18 additional countries
The world needs strong women. If fashion can help us get there - then even better. We have innovatively implemented the brand value: We've expanded MADELEINE’s online shop, previously catering to nine countries, with an international online store to a further 18 EU countries. In the medium term, the plan is to go global beyond European borders. The new online shop has been designed as an “online only” platform. In contrast to the pre-existing shops, the classic print catalogue production is dispensed with as a sales channel and the online shop will be advertised purely through digital means. Straight from the launch we’ve supported the project with various performance marketing measures. Based on the existing corporate design of the individual country-specific shops we set the standard with a new look, for a positive user experience in e-commerce. Using the open source e-commerce platform Magento, we have tempered the technically challenging IT structures and redefined them from a business point of view. The main task was to integrate the old and new, with overall harmonization being the icing on the cake. This was ultimately necessary in order to make the leap towards real-time shopping: A bold statement - for growth, internationalization and the digital lifestyle of the target audience.

In order to find the best interface, we approached this as others approach fashion – analyze, derive, create. In this way we create online shops that fit the brand like a perfectly combined outfit – with a user journey that encourages a shopping spree. Technical evaluation is the formula behind this digital blockbuster.

The creation of a web shop is like a big puzzle: Only when all the pieces fit, do you get a smart platform: on MADELEINE.com, ladies can now be inspired by high-quality fashion, and find and order available items in real time. The online shop is just as sophisticated as its high fashion clientele.

With UX wireframing and prototyping we discuss the simplest way to operate the site: An excellent user experience emphasizes the items; the interface sets them perfectly in scene.
